Not helping, my n3DS seems to have the update downloaded based on how late it errors and the CFW disables that. You can also try SpotPass. Put the console in Sleep Mode with the Wi-Fi on and it should download the update by itself, then you'll have to confirm.
Being a we bit paranoid about it.If you're going to download the 11.0 update pack, why not just download the 11.1 update pack and install it with sysUpdater?
But if you have Arm9LoaderHax, you can backup your NAND in Decrypt9 before you update. This way, if the update fails and bricks your 3DS, you can simply restore the clean backup to your 3DS by going to decrypt9 again on bootup, and then try updating again.Being a we bit paranoid about it.

Yeap, already bricked it once trying before, I used FBI.But if you have Arm9LoaderHax, you can backup your NAND in Decrypt9 before you update. I reported that did not work on the first page.Which CFW are you using? Luma3DS allows system updates to be downloaded in sleep mode, I use it all the time, since I get a lot of errors like yours using on demand downloads from the system settings.
You can also boot Safe Mode, which should delete any pre-downloaded updates in the memory. Then exit and try again.
