Hacking Can not update to 11.1

I have been trying to get my n3DS to update to the latest firmware, but it is failing. I had tried with a custom home menu, then installed the stock one. Now it gets further; about 90%, before bailing out with the "an error has occured" error. Does anyone know how I could fix this? Are there any titles I should try to install the 11.0 versions of to attempt to rectify this?

Do you have a custom font? Custom fonts have been a common issue for people who can't upgrade to 11.1

I do not, how does one do that? I might want to try after I manage to update.

You literally just install them like normal games (CIA)
The only fonts I have used and tested are these

Try following some advice on page 3 of this thread and see if it solves your issue if you were using a custom home menu.

Recovery mode did not work either.

I'd backup saves using JKSM, restore a NAND backup, then update. I'm not sure how to solve your issue besides that, sorry.

Are you using Tubehax? Check if your DNS are set to auto.
Or blocking Ninty servers on router?

Dont remember if that causes it to fail though, but probably will.

I do not think so, but I could try reinstalling those titles. Got TIDs and versions for the 11.0.0-33US?

TWL_FIRM - 0004013820000102 - v9936

If all else fails, grab the 11.0 N3DS update pack from that ISO site and use SysUpdater to install every fresh 11.0 CIA, then try re-updating.
I don't know if the full 11.1 N3DS pack has been uploaded yet, but if that also fails, and the 11.1 pack is there, try installing that.

use FBI to delete the homemenu then install a fresh cia of it then try again

Pretty much, yeah. You can use 3DNUS to download any system CIA using its TID and version.
