Can I password protect a folder with certain games so my son can't access games such as resident evil?

No, that's what parental controls are for (even more so on a modded system where you can assign your own age ratings) - of course those aren't maximum security either (mkey.salthax.com)

No on the Wii U as mentioned in the previous comment, I'll use parental controls. Don't know why I didn't think of it before this post.
