I typically use the Homebrew App Store to install these kind of things.

You can do it directly on your switch by installing the hbappstore app. Sort by date…there’s some old shit that doesn’t work very well at the end.

Bumping a year old thread to ask this isn't great, but they mean that Amiigo can create the virtual amibos for you instead of you obtaining them elsewhere

if your smart phone has an nfc reader (easy test is seeing if it's in your mini menu or if you've ever done google pay/wallet) then you can just buy nfc stickers/cards that are blank for like a couple bucks each and use tagmo to make any amiibo you want that works with even unmodded wiiu/switch/3ds systems.

for example this is 25 blank cards for under 10 bucks

It links to (at the time) all the available amiibo apps and if you run their app on your Switch it will even install them for you.
