ROM Hack Question Can a hacked switch do local multiplayer?

So I'm gonna hack my switch eventually but I need to know this now since I can't find any recent information: If I play smash bros with a non-legit copy and my friend connects to my lobby with a legit version in local multiplayer will anyone get banned?

Nah. It wouldn't be very good PR if they were to ban legit users just for having some association with a person with a hacked console. There would be innocent people being banned left and right many of them not understanding why, and that hasn't happened.
