Hardware C-stick replacement question

Recently been playing alot of monster hunter stories and in that game you have to spin the c stick alot... sadly id reccomend just loosing that minigame as i have come to realize. stick still works but whatever keeps it from turning 360 degrees is broken now and is surprisingly annoying. trying to figure out which replacement part i need and cant tell if its the cap that keeps it from spinning or the base. also if anyone could sugesst a better place to order replacement parts that would ship faster would be much appreciated. Currently using the original 3ds

When you go to System Settings > Other Settings > Circle Pad > Revert to Default Settings , and then do the 4 arrows calibration to reset the neutral position, how does the game play then?

Edit: You mention this is an original 3DS, yet those don't have c-sticks. Do you mean you have an New 3DS original (regular size)?
