Hacking Buying a new Wii

Well I haven't got a Wii yet and now i really want one so I can install a Wiinja chip. I take it the chance of me getting one of the new chipsets is pretty high. I read that there is a series of serial numbers to look for. Is there truth to this? What should i be looking at to ensure that my Wii can be modded? I obviously cannot disassemble the unit at the store. I don't want to get one and find out I'm stuck!

Maybe if you ebay you can ask for the first 4 digits of the serial from the seller.

You might be better waiting till V2 of the chip comes out, so it works on all wiis.

Yea I was thinking the same. Hopefully the MOD GODS figures out a solution soon. Thanks for your advise.

according to WiiNewz the code for the D2B chipset has already been created. A modified version of Errant's DVD tool which can be found at http://www.ps2-scene.org/forums/showthread.php?t=52510

I thought the serial number had to be before LEH1100. So seeing this is letters, what do serial numbers look like? K??, H?? etc. etc.??
