Gaming buying a new psp 3000 HELP

I'm going to be buying a new psp 3000 is there anyway to tell what firmware it has just by looking at the box? Thank you for any help you can give.

Then there's really no way to tell which firmware it has if you just buy the core pack (PSP, charger). You'd be better off getting a used PSP 2000. I'm personally getting a red God of War one, which is guaranteed CHA.

I had a chance to get a free God of War PSP 2000 once too, but it was some 'college' (he was gonna start it that semester) kid's PSP that he said he stole it.

I didn't want to mess with a thief though so I turned down his offer and got myself a 3000 a long time ago, back when they weren't hackable at all.
