Do you know why you need to remove the resistor? Is it to deactivate the power led?

Yes it is to disable the power LED to prevent additional battery drain.

just prep my trinket for installing into the switch, haven't removed resistor yet as I forgot about that, waiting on the screwdriver set now to be delivered.

I think you use some wrong data pinout, they are the ones on the far left corner.

I'll double check that before I do the install, but it has program fine so that tells me the data pins are correct.

but no harm in checking again.

looks correct to me after looking at this image, only thing I've used different is the GND pad..

I have not opened up my switch yet, because my trinket m0 has not arrived, but looking at disassembly photos, there seems to be decent space at top the battery for trinket. Can someone confirm that?

I'm just waiting for a tri wing 1.5 to turn up then I'll let you know if nobody else does.

looking at a Google image I suppose you could cut a part of the foam away that keeps battery in place and put it in corner.

nope it looks as if this is the only place for it really.

Would it be possible to cut the volume up line and connect the trinket power between it. So it's only running if you press the volume button.

Edit.: Ok, the power consumption on idle is 1,3mA (with the power LED). So it's pretty negligible.

did u get the binconverter.py to work,im getting a error on line 7 with python, if you have a copy of this with the sxos payloader on the main file will you share it please.

Test the new converter and if you still have a problem, open an Issue on github.

The binconverter.py should now run on python 3.6.2 and 2.7

The NX disables the power rail on the USB port when in RCM mode. This is why some kind of power source is required for the dongle.

The TX dongle uses some fat electrolytic capacitors and a tiny low-power microcontroller.

Just out of curiosity, would straight-up copying the design of the TX dongle be very complicated? The fact that it requires no external power source nor battery is a rather nice feature. Do we know which microcontroller it uses?

right I've done the install everything works apart from when I have a sd card in, it gets to nintendo boot logo then makes a crackle sound then shuts off, this is both retail & cfw.

I have tried 5 different sd cards and it's the same result.

if I remove anyone of the sd cards then it boots retail and boots to the boot.dat error screen.

also it seems that my 125gb is dead now also, it's not showing up in my pc either.

I've checked the sd card adapter thing for bent pins and ain't any.

It looks like this guy removed the metal shielding and the thermal compound. Will this leave the Switch susceptible to overheating? Looking to install the trinket m0 mod myself and wondering if I can just remove those for aesthetic purposes.

Well the power source is the capacitors which I presume are charging up as soon as the CFW loads up, ready for the next use; there is no battery. Would that be easy to replicate in a DIY dongle?

Thanks for the link, I'll have a look! Could work with an Arduino nano maybe.

here's my trinket install I cut the metal cover, not a great job of cutting but it'll do. I've not used pad 3 as my joycon has a button I press.
