Gaming Broken PSP or battery?

Problem is simple: My 'new' secondhand PSP doesn't boot. No green light. When I put it on the charger it gives a orange light, but it still doesn't boot.

Does it come on with the charger plugged in?

oops missed the part about booting so I'd say it the psp itself

No battery, charger? Does it work then?
Any sounds when you try to make it turn on?
Sounds like a PSP problem, not a screen problem.

Update: without battery, it sometimes boots.. But it shuts down again if I move to much..
A mate will come at my house with his 100X + charger, so I'll update you guys with more info tomorrow.

Okay.
That's definitely a hardware problem.
Related to the motherboard, it seems.

My one psp 1000 had a mess up power switch. I took it apart to have a look see and just messed with the plastic slider a little worked fine afterwards. It did what yours is doing it would just shut off on it's own while playing if I moved the unit around too much.
