Gaming Broken left shoulder button

I have just discovered that my left shoulder button on my DS has ceased to be.

Although a great excuse to buy a new machine it did make me question how many games use the left shoulder button.

I could not think of that many.

If it hasn't hallen of or anything like that.
Try blowing in the crack between the shoulder nutton and ds.

Believe me, it fixed my ones and many others!

When my R button stopped working, I opened up my DS, cleaned it out a little, and tinkered with the button itself, and it ended up working again for another 9 months or so. Maybe try that? Many, many games use the shoulder buttons, haha.

Mario and Sonic at the olympic games both Winter and Summer use L and R.
Mario and luigi 2 and 3 I think uses it too.

Mario Kart uses the L button but you can always use X instead

Damn, I had forgotten about Mario Kart.

Off to try the blowing trick. Not so keen on taking my ds apart.

I lots of very hard blowing later my left should but seems to be okay again.

Like the simplicity of the solution.

I shall continue to find games that uses the left shoulder button, just so I can be prepared for it's likely future return failure.

Ugh... I hate the shoulder buttons on the DS Lite, and games that rely heavily on them ate annoying.

All Pokemon GBA/DS games can use L as A if you set it in the options. You lose the functionality to cycle through your inventory in HGSS, though.
