Just to let you know if it's still in warranty it'll be free as long as there is no homebrew found on it, I sent mine with no video and audio (low level brick) and told them the power went out during an update and they replaced it with a new one.

It was a launch wii so no warranty

All the cables were plugged into the tv/wall.
Only thing i unplugged them from was the back of the wii and then switched it to my wii which worked fine but switching them back to the other non working wii got no video at all.

I'm not even worried about this anymore as the guy has the wii back now so its outta my hands and theres nothing i can do.

go into your priiloader by holding the reset button
its either one of the bottom hacks that you have on

I had that happen to me and it was like a lock

The wii has never been modded at all.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

DeadlyFoez can fix your Wii for a $40 labour charge and he can have it back to you sooner than nintendo will. I personally vouch for the quality of his work and I suspect you will be very satisfied with it also.

Also, another reason to send it to Foez instead of nintendo, is that if u send it to nintendo you'll loose the ability to install bootmii as boot2.

In the end, you can do w/e u want, but the truth is, its better for you if you send it to Foez than nintendo.

Thanks for the info Xflak but like i said earlier i already gave the wii back to the original owner and i don't think he would just send it to some guy over the internet.

I was going to recommend this as well. It happened to me when I first installed "preloader" (as opposed to the newer ones). It defaulted to "Force standard recovery mode" which had only 4.2U on the black screen. Disabling it fixed the error and put me right into the system menu.

It's worth a shot just in case someone lied/was ignorant and it actually had been *attempted* to be hacked before.
