Well, guess I got overzealous. I got my phone rooted with Gingerbreak, went to flash a custom rom, and it locked itself at the LG log on reboot... Any help would be nice, but digging through tutorials is leaving me SOL.

How does flashing work for your phone?
Anyway, to get into the bootloader, hold the volume up button when booting up.
You can also try going into the recovery menu, by holding the volume down button when booting up.
From there, you can format data and cache, and hopefully it'll start working again.

Attempting to boot into recovery only brings up a clack screen. Same with emergency mode.

Well I checked around and found out this . Give a try as I cant find any other reason for you to get black screen when entering the recovery menu.

Okay then just give the thread I linked to in my previous post a quick read in case you ever decide to install a custom rom . Your new phone might also have the different screen type & it wont hurt you to know how to avoid this problem.

have you tried odin? if you phone turns on you can easily install odin and install a firmware , if you know howto get to download mode, you are good to go
