So my Wii U recently came down with a case of error 160-0103 whenever I try to play a game. After doing some research I found out it's probably because my Wii U has the faulty eMMC chip that can corrupt the NAND if the system gets turned off at the wrong time. To make a long story short, Nintendo wouldn't repair it since I had softmodded my vWii and despite my best efforts to clean it up, it still got rejected.
So now I have two questions:
1. Is there any way I can fix this? (I am guessing not, at least not without hardmodding, which I have no experience with)
2. If I can't fix it, I will just buy another Wii U secondhand. Is there any way I could tell if the new Wii U would be susceptible to the same problem? I am guessing newer Wii U's should be safer, so is there some way to tell how old a Wii U is just be looking at the serial number or something? Also is there any hope of transferring my save data between consoles?
Thanks for any advice.
