The N5 has been known to brick a NDS, so yes it's possible but unlikely.

No, it doesn't brick the DS but it might cause a short and blow a fuse in the Nintendo DS. The different is, you can replace or fix the fuse while a bricked Nintendo DS is a lot harder to fix. Though its possible to modify the N5 to prevent this from happening though and if it does happen, you can either get a new fuse or use a little paper clip to act in stead of the fuse.

Hey OP.

Stop spamming!!!

You don't need to make threads just because you want to.

If you want to find out something, then search for it. If it doesn't come up, then make it. But even with that, look around and see if there's a thread that will answer your question. Got that?

Quoted just so you can read it again. How many times do people have to tell you that you have to stop asking questions that can easily be found with the help of the Almighty Search Engine??

The problem with using a paper clip (or similar type of bypass for a real fuse) is that you could permanently destroy your DS if something occurs that WOULD have blown the fuse, but can't because you replaced it with a bypass.

It probably blew the fuse instead of frying a chip on the DS. That's why the fuse is there.

But bridging the fuse should work fine, as most things you do to your ds should not short out your ds. The fuse will only ever blow if you flash your ds wrong by bridging the wrong contact, or a fluke. Put it this way, if you manage to blow the non existant fuse which you bridge with a paperclip, it will become a real brick! (it will probably also melt and catch on fire and explode)
