99a Jumpback (pointer search) always crashes for me when going from depth 4 to 5 or depth 5 to 6 regardless of settings, even with search range B8 and less than 50 targets
multi games tested

Is this a change between 99 and 99a?

Here is one that is in between if 99 is ok.

yes, I went from 99 to 99a if that's what you asked
working fine on 99
Does the roll back add color escape code to text fix the problem? On the surface at least that should be the only code that is involved as UI is everywhere. The other changes don't involve jumpback menu other than the overall size gets bigger with every additional code.

What is the state of the extra buttons = , is it not zero? i.e. there is at lease a color button on display?

I am able to repeat the crash easily. Will try to figure out what is wrong with this implementation of color escape code.

I am not sure about the extra button =, I only see Normal with a number next to it
but, it crashes in both normal and focus modes

@dsrules thanks for the bug report, I have fixed the problem. It used to crash when the total row on the left panel exceed a certain number. While it is fine now and is able to support 200 rows on the left panel I have decided to reduce it to 20.

beta99a updated to pr2

Added sys-ftpd-freeze

This version of sys-ftpd will freeze the game when the HOME button is pressed.
The button combo used to pause and resume the FTP server will also freeze and unfreeze the game.

Fixed a bug introduced in pr2.

Update Gen2 Fork to 0.13i
To use the Gen2 menu, navigate to the setup menu, uninstall the current Gen2 fork, and then reinstall it.

New Features:

  • Added Grab_R: Captures the content of register R.
  • Added Match_R: Matches the content of register R to a specified value.

If it not clear if it is applicable to all game maker studio games, I only started to notice in the last two I came across that R14 is a good way to screen memory for hacking.

2025030311000400-DB1426D1DFD034027CECDE9C2DD914B8.jpg
Set Grab_R to 1 and do a watch on the value. Test if the register can be used to screen value by watching the instruction that access it and press Match_R to set the capture to screen out those that R14 don't match. In this case it show that there is only one item being captured and it is the correct item we want to have.

Turn off X30_match (it's still call that though now it is more than X30 being matched) and see that this instruction access a lot more than our target so we do need to do that match to properly hack the game.

Hi @TomSwitch is there a restriction/ limit on how many code cave it can it can do?
Im doing the last faith, i had about 6 or 7 code caves 1 is very long which is 6 circles bad staff for player and for enemy from A50 to B00 i dont know if that will not let me write any more code cave. Even none of them is on so i can pick where code cave start.
Alternative code cave = 0
I start the last 3 digits from AC0 to B80
Even i try with alternative cc it wont let write coming up with asm error no code, and i did try a basic code cave it still can’t write
Im at work if you need the file to test out i will send after i get home 99b pr3

No, it's limited by space not number

You can check how much space is left by looking at where the segment ends.
This button in memory explorer moves you to the end of the segment

Usually the size if in multiple of 0x1000, by looking at the last three digits of where available code space starts you already have an idea how much space you have left. I saw that my cheat for this game starts at 9C8, that is about 1.5k left, not a small space. Assuming the size to be totally random that on the average you should have 2k.

:)

Not clear if you have discovered the problem. The way add asm work is it will search for not zero from the back of the segment until it encounter not zero. You can override code start with the line "cave_start = "

dont know what is happening there after do a code cave in the new txt file, then copy it back to the old txt file load up and i can do code cave after that very strange. i alway use cave_start to leave space just in case need to write more to it :)

@TomSwitch First of all, congratulations on the excellent work. Would it be could be to use the breeze in the Tesla menu like the Edizon?

There is no Breeze overlay, it was a very bad idea to name that overlay you call Edizon the same as the applet. People are always lazy to include the full name and ended up giving misinformation all the time.

The EdiZon overlay actually has nothing to do with the EdiZon applet other than the original author was the same person. So you are actually not using EdiZon at all when you use EdiZon overlay.

EdiZon started as a way to edit game save, it receive a little bit of attention on memory search, the author then decided to move on to other pursue, I waited for a long time for the rewrite to come out only to be disappointed that that project was abandoned and there was perhaps no effort on extending memory search anyway. I then took up to forked EdiZon and made EdiZon SE. (badly named as people lazy to type SE so it has always been confusing which they are talking about)

I strongly discourage people who want to use EdiZon(applet), EdiZon SE or Breeze from having Tesla active (can be disabled with sysmodule manager). The reason is there is not enough memory to go around and there may be dragons when you run out of memory.

Oh, I see, the way to use it in the tesla menu makes it easier because you don't need to keep entering the console's Home all the time. I don't know if Breeze has a quick way to access the cheats. I really appreciate your work and what you do for the community.

The fastest way to get to Breeze is to use home then profile. You have to set this to 1 in settings menu.
