@dsrules ,i noticed in the video that you use a joypad and not joycons,have you tried with those if you have the same problem,it could be that that joypad doesn't communicate well with the Switch.

most of the times it slows when I first opened search setup
try keep moving in the setup menu for 1 minute see if you could get it to become slow

@dsrules for this reason i told you to try,even with the joycon disconnected from the console and connect them to the grip,i saw your video well i don't have this problem that it gets stuck in the search setup menu.
It is very strange, so just having the code there even if it don't execute is causing this slowdown? Did you toggle the help off?

There are games that don't pause with the press of home button and those game can cause slow launch and maybe some slowdown but this isn't one of those games.
I have experience slowdown but not specific to Breeze when the network is really bad and lots of erupt is generated. I have now a patch that disable writing of erupt and that solved the problem.
Neither of these should apply to what you observed but I am just throwing it to the wall now.
I just did one minute and with joy con detach and with joy con controlling can't get to see even the problem that I saw once which is it seems like there was a buffer that queue up the move.
Is what you saw press twice to move once? When that happens it is always twice to move once?

maybe I misunderstood what each different file does, all 3 had help text in Search setup, help toggle was always on in Search manager duting the tests, help toggle was off when slowness was first discovered
the speed is not constant, it could become faster or slower

maybe also different is from the console as well, example im using oled i do have slow down in search menu, but not as bad as your getting
i do own v1 unpatch as well as olde, i noted oled does thing smoother and faster then v1
maybe Tom is test on his oled will give slightly different result, and could be config setup too, my oled sometime exit the game then enter breeze it will hang in gray screen, need to press home and reenter breeze , this rarely it happen probably got to do with memory use by the game also share with breeze to do search/ cheat in general
This happens with some games. Reason unknown. Had been for a long time.
Try this. You need to make Breeze the first app on hbmenu or you will be launching the first app what ever that may be.
What happens when you press this button is profile is taken over by a special version of hbmenu that automatically launch the first app. Why hbmenu don't stuck I have no idea. When you do this you trade never stuck for a slightly slower launch of Breeze.
This stuck issue applies to EdiZon, Edizon SE, day break and Breeze.

Earlier one has a bug.
There are two parts to the search setup menu help text
1. Whether the line that display the help text is drawn
2. Whether to update the text which is drawn in part 1.
This is what 1 & 2 in the file name is about.
Actually by using the version in the above link you can test both scenario.
Whether the line is drawn will be determined by this setting when the menu is enter the first time.
The above screen show 0 means help text will not be drawn.
1 is set only once when you enter search setup menu. Means if you enter it at 0 the first time you will never see the help text.
2 is set every time you enter search setup menu. Means if you change it the help text will be changed every time you move the cursor but you may not be able to see the change if at point 1 help_toggle is 0.
Please help to test if any of these mix result in no delay.

I don't have the latest on this Switch that I have with me. The other one is at home and I won't be back until 28.
If any one what example of a game that slows down all home brew you can try Ikki Unite, unless you pause the game everything will be slow.

I use hdmi to usb adapter. It cost like $5 but you need a computer.
You can just drag and drop a file to google drive and click share and choose anyone with link.
with help =1, 1st time enter search setup, it stops for few seconds after moving 7s, 2nd time after moving 4s
help=0, no slow down moving for 2 minutes
=1 , open breeze, slow, go back, =0, normal
=1, open breeze, slow, reopen breeze, =0, normal
=0, open breeze, normal
=0, open breeze, normal, go back, =1, slow
bare bone v1 rcm on latest fw and cfw, no .overlay, themes

@TomSwitch ,i use a USB-HDMI capture card to record gameplay directly onto my smartphone and then upload it to my YouTube channel.
@dsrules ,have you tried downgrading to the previous version?
Maybe the latest OFW/CFW is the problem.
if you think is firmware problem, please update to the latest fw and test it
no reason to stay on old firmware when new games will require newest firmware sooner or later
@dsrules even @TomSwitch doesn't have the latest firmware installed and i don't have any games at the moment that require the console to be updated,when that happens i will update,i'm just trying to help.
Thanks, please download Breeze again. I found that at this menu Breeze is doing some unnecessary sd card access. Hopefully the issue is now resolved.
If the problem now goes away maybe your sd card is slower than those who don't notice the problem.
