Gaming Breath of the Wild legit copy on CFW Wii U

Hey, I just custom modded my Wii U and I realized that Breath of the Wild has apparently been released online (....apparently). I still plan on buying it legit but I heard that there's a 2GB game update that's required but I'm not sure whether I can just download the update and apply it with WUB loader while still have the hard copy of the game?
