Hi, user of GBATemp here, I am very confused on hex editing.

Can someone just add 99 Unearthly Buns to my save file as I have no cooking clue on what to do.

I have attached my save file here.

Please add it to the first save file.

I did use Google and checked here as well.

The closest thing is Savely Second, which edits jobs and job levels. And one for Villagers for both games.

I just want to get 99 Unearthly Buns.

And I don't know how to hex edit.

Thanks for the reply though.

Sounds like you do have a "cooking clue", then, don't you?

And I don't know how to hex edit.
  • Take a note of how many Unearthly Buns you have in the game, along with how many of some other inventory item.
  • Convert those numbers to hexadecimal. (Google can do that.)
  • Open your save file in a hex editor. (Pick one. I like XVI32.)
  • Search for one of the numbers. There will probably be a bunch of matches.
  • Search for the other number. There will probably also be a bunch of matches, but hopefully some of those matches will be in the same part of the file as the other matches, suggesting that's the part of the file where the inventory numbers are stored.*
  • Overwrite the numbers with "63" (99 in hexadecimal).
  • Load up the game and see if the numbers have changed.
  • If it doesn't work, change one of the other matches and try again.

*Alternatively, consume one of your Unearthly Buns in-game, export your saved game again, convert the new number to hexadecimal, search for that number in the new saved game, and see if the locations of any of the new matches correspond with the locations of the old matches.
