I tried that. I am ony my streepass connection, Nintendo Zone is blinking. I closed my 3DS, but nothing happens . Tried it with different MAC adresses from the list, not even with the main code it gives me streetpasses.

Jo, mein DS hat Internet, Browser läuft. Habe es genauso gemacht, wie du eben beschrieben hast. Aber das Licht blinkt nur Geld die ganze Zeit. Es wird nicht Grün, dass Streetpasser vorbeikommen...
Habe es mit der Mac OSX Methode gemacht. Meine WLAN Spot Adresse ist auf jeden Fall 4E53504F4F40. Nintendo Zone funktioniert auch. Ich peil das nicht...

got something like 10 streetpasses while the game is shut and console is on standby with latest firmware (not 6.3 as i was late to use emunand) and i'v tried several times in between the 10 passes to open the game, load then check, and it just says i met no one.
The SP receiver as well as the SP sender need to have enabled streetpassing in BD (iirc you can do it once you find the necklace/pendant thingy).
If you get a BD SP it will show in the homemenu notifications window (green chatbubble icon, second from the right in the top row).
Then you can import those into BD using the update button in-game.
If you don't have a BD SP notification, you don't have a BD SP. If you are homepassing wait some time and try another MAC or try again in eight hours.
edit: it seems btw the version of BD doesnt matter, as atm I've got three different BD icons in my BD SP notification with one of them having the "Check your inbox!" text in moonrunes.

it works on 7.0. but before using emunand you will have to do a few steps on 4.x before updating.
1. setup ur mii char
2. setup the homepass
3. while still on 4.x connect to the virtual router that you created for homepass and make sure it's the only connection for the 3ds
make sure it can connect before you upgrade to 7.0, as 7.0 does not allow accesss to settings and as such if your network connection to the virtual router is not ready to use, then it wont work.
and this also works with emunand and the emunand backup/injection tool, I just tried it, pretty nice ^^
too bad, that I already bought a retail cardridge of the game and cant use that method for it XD

I just wanted to get a consensus from everyone who is currently playing this game on whether the "Update Data" function within the game is working for anyone or not. This is for "Net Friend Invites" to gain villagers to help to quickly rebuild Norende in the game.
It is not working for me because I suspect this involves the game to be "online" and is disabled was using the Gateway 3DS. I would Streetpass for villagers, but there aren't that many people in my area who owns a 3DS, and setting up Homepass proved to be a fruitless effort since all of my hardware (routers, phones, laptops, computers) will not function as a proper access point for them.
So to reiterate, does "Update Data" work or is it just me?

I did it using the homepass method so I can promise you the update data does at least work in that regard. I have like 20 villagers now. Not sure about the net friend system though.

I tried homepass and update data didnt work for me either... Never get any villagers after trying for 3 days... =(
Update Data only works using Homepass or actually passing by people, it's not possible to do it over the internet with Gateway.
y i backuped my fresh 6.3 sd card using win32diskimager because of nand. After i got enough people,backup new saves, restore the sd, copied the new saves. No Update Promt nag me
well, that should be (as in i haven't tested this myself) another part of the beauty of emunand: do a emu backup, grab the street-/homepasses, import them in bravely default, restore the (update free) backup, enjoy
edit: damn, ninjad. at least I was proven right in my assumption.
