Is it just me or is the Counter move when fighting hit or miss.
When fighting a robot in one of the temples I randomly manage to do a counter.
Usaually I just jump then get killed.

Is there a an easier way of doing this?
or is it just bluetooth controller lag thats messing with my technique.

Could be a bit easier.
I seem to be able to preform the counter when practicing and do it every time.
Soon as I fight a boss I fail to preform the counter as well as in practicing.
I dont think I'm the issue somehow.
not panicking :) when fighting.

it timing and right spot

it seem you need to be at right spacing with what you are fighting and time it right for it to trigger

the shield parry is something to learn as it can save you shield and be kill Guardians (send the "beam of doom" right back at them)

just as they are about the bring their weapon down on you that's when you do it. when i actually fight that is too busy blowing the shit out of everything with bomb arrows

Timing is the key.
When they hit you normally do a backflip and your get it.
I dont get it much from jumping to the side.
You can also shield hit them if time right.

There's something wrong with this control system as Link occasionally whistle's when fighting and my fingers are definitely not pressing that button.

The control system is having problems and recognizing the wrong buttons pressed..

Don't smash your controllers in salty rage?

You've obviously broken something. I played well over 150 hours of BOTW and never once did I have a rogue input happen.
I promise, I meant to use my arrows and not throw my sword... again. Then again, this is my fault and not the controllers.

Timing, precision and luck.

But to be honest, I don't like to use this method of fight very much because it tends to get too repetitive and takes too many hits to kill the enemy. Stock up as many bow arrows as you can and use that instead, imo.

I've been able to do it almost constantly with Lynels but not with Silver Lynels. In fact when I went up against one of those I nearly got my ass handed to me because their AOE attack will nearly 1 hit KO me even with 30 hearts, and nearly max (4 star) armor.

That said I'd recommend anyone practice against the lynels when you have decent armor. They might be strong but their attacks are predictable so it's easier to counter them (imo).
