FYI if anyones curious if their computer will work my computer specs are:
Emachines ET1331G-03w
AMD Athlon™ II X2 dual-core processor 235e (2.7GHz, 2MB L2 cache)
Absolutely no GPU installed, Integrated NVIDIA® GeForce® 6150 SE graphics card
6144MB DDR2 dual-channel
Bright House Road Runner 15MBPS with speed boost which is about 2mb per sec DL and 250kb or so for UL

I haven't noticed any lag within any the games which makes me think a GPU really isn't required but a decent CPU and internet speed is

Borderlands is just a really popular game and to have it plus all the DLC for $5, and be able to play it on almost any computer system is pretty sweet. I remember paying like $30 for the regular copy of Borderlands for my Xbox, plus like $5 a piece for 3/4 of the DLC (it was before Claptrap's Robot Revolution or whatever came out).

Been having a ton of fun with this game. My only issue is pretty much an ISP issue. Clearwire loves to drop packets on me so playing this game on my desktop PC (connected to my fiance's 32inch HDTV) is pretty much a no no right now. I need to find a way to turn off the rumble feature of my wired 360 controller. Borderlands doesn't have a rumble on/off option. For now I'm playing this game using my OnLive Micro Console (connected to my 19inch HDTV). I might try my 360 controller on the MC to see if I get the same result as my desktop. On the PC whenever the 360 controller rumbles my connection screws everything up and the controls are locked till I unplug/plug. On the Micro Console, the OnLive controller is specifically made for low latency so I don't have any control issues. For everyone else playing the OnLive version of this game, what is your ISP and connection speed? Do you experience any issues?

The problem here is that you potentially open the gates by allowing just one sale to be posted on the USN. The other time in question was when somebody mentioned a sale on expandable memory products. They were just told they were advertising, that nobody wanted to see it, etc. This was a couple months before you were mag staff. I don't care if it's the game of the century, a sale is a sale and should be treated as such. Being a fun game is a shit excuse. Anybody that knows Onlive even a little know they are doing those $5 Friday things. Other good games are bound to show up. Steam has excellent sales all of the time.

People bitch enough about the USN as it is. I don't think we need to load it down with sales that those who are interested will already know about anyways.

No offense, but I don't think it's up to you to determine what is and isn't news. We're not forcing you to read all the news here, if you don't feel like it's worth your time then don't read it. Sales news doesn't fill up the USN. It never has and never will. If you have an issue with having one thread about a sale in, I don't know, the last five pages of the USN (I took a brief skim through the last 5 pages of news and there's no other thread about sales) then I think you seriously need to get your priorities straight.

Stop complaining and if you really have an issue with it, don't read the goddamn thread. Read the news that's vital to you, don't bitch and whine about the news that's not because of your personal opinion.

Sales can go in the respective sections for the platform, like they have since I joined. Also, like I said, Onlive apparently has $5 Fridays every single Friday. Steam has good sales all of the time. Why is this treated so specially? I don't want to hear bullshit like it got you personally into Onlive, or that you personally really like the game. It's subscription optional. You can pay no subscription and buy games, rentals, and try demos, or you can pay roughly $10/month and get unlimited access to a bunch of games and 30% off any purchases.

But you can just as easily make an account, go on, and buy games freely (although a rather large annoyance for me is that some games are only available to subscribers, such as BioShock, and not available for purchase by regular users).

That annoyance is a good business practice though. The free games for the month may not be enough incentive to certain people that may be considering subscribing, but you potentially seal the deal by offering exclusive content to that group that is willing to pay some extra. There are enough perks that I can see the cost being worthwhile.

Also, oh shit, this service is taking awhile to really get off the ground. I knew I had heard about it awhile ago, but it's over a year old at this point. At least they're sticking with it though. Not sure exactly how large their customer base is at this point.

I am a little bit interested in trying the service, but my connection is so terrible up here, I don't think I'll bother.
