So with bootmii installed as boot2, I should be able to safely try waninokoko's 4.0 updater right?
so far, i've never tried it because of the talks of possible bricking. But if I make a nand backup before of my working 3.2, I can fully restore that?

yes ^^

I dont think the updater will run... as it is no specific bootmii mini compatible .dol, but u can try anyway...

groeten..

Works great on Boot2 with my Wii, but it does extend boot time quite a lot :\. Also, I'd like to confirm that HBC 1.0.2 allows Apps to be read off any USB devices connected with an APPS folder in the root (Y), which is quite useful.
Oh, though after all that my SD card is nowhere near big enough to backup my NAND - time to get a new SD card (though maybe I'll hold off until SDHC is properly stable and supported on BootMii).

Not if he loads it from the homebrew channel.. Ran fine for me. I backed up first of course.. and now, I have a fancy 4.0 wii.

But does bootmii take quite a longtime to load for anyone else? It takes around 5 whole secs (on a black screen) when the wii boots up... Maybe it's my SD though (kingston 1GB japan microsd (in adapter))
consider yourself lucky. It takes 20 seconds with my japanese kingston 1GB micro SD.

I wrote it in a comment on hackmii already...

. Well, good it's out, probably going to install it when I'm at home...

Now, I would love to go a little further about USB and HBC 1.0.2...I know this is BootMii, but somehow they're connected, and a new Topic would be stupid...

1) Can apps, that run from USB still acess the FAT32-Partition (Like DMP)?
2) What about apps that need a folder in the root (Super Mario War)?
3) Any compability Issues?

I'm guessing that Apps that searches for files on the root would need a recompile to support USB...the rest should work without any problems...anyone can confirm? Thanks in Advance

Ok, I am on System Menu 4.0 (Waninkoko's updater)
I installed BootMii and the latest HBC, as we know I can't read my damn SDHC in HBC anymore.
How can I go back to the old HBC that reads SDHC? I was just going to install 1.01 but worried that it won't work with 4.0 and might somehow mess up my HBC completely.

hmmm... the new HBC is also much slower at loading applications, as if they forget the readahead patch

Yeah, no disrespect but the new HBC sucks

How do I go back?

What should I install it as IOS or boot?

What things are possible with bootmii?

installing it as boot2 is the best
then your wii will be fully brickproof (after making the nand backup), even if you totally mess it up

Is it possible to make Bootmii boot directly into the main Wii menu? It's a bit annoying having to get up and use the buttons on the console every time you turn it on.

yes.

goto sd:/bootmii/bootmii.ini

and change/add that line

AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU

AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU

in the bootmii.ini
