Mann!! the same problem i had with preloader is in bootmii too. When i launch on go to homebrew channel
it gives my a pixelated screen of the homebrew channel loading, hope its fixable. I've noticed a few other people have this issue but only a few.

I had this problem intermittently with my Bootmii. A reboot fixed it. I haven't had the issue Preloader. If your problem doesn't go away ever, maybe NAND needs to be formatted or HBC moved to a different area on the NAND? I really have no idea.

I reinstalled HBC 1.0.1.

HBC 1.0.2 DOES NOT READ SDHC

Expect HBC 1.0.3 in a matter of days because of this stupid error.

heh... I think you are the 1st person to discover that. Anyway, do you have any idea if installing bootmii as an IOS will I still be able to access the sdcard upon power up of the wii to restore the nand or does it only work if it was installed as boot2?
Someone found it already and told TT on the BootMii IRC channel. It's already on the HackMii's bug fix to do list.

Have to repeat, since my question got lost in the shuffle:

Will BootMii's installer automatically reformat your SD card, or does it only do so if it needs to change the file system? Thanks.

older wii´s have a full brick protection

wii´s since middle 08 have the bad F01E boot1

Man, reading the struggles that so many people have gone through from lu64 to 4.0 to boot1 makes me grateful. I hope nothing ever happens to my Wii. My 2006 launch serial lu10 Wii

I wonder if they plan on supporting BootMii installed as the System Menu's IOS.
That'd at least give those without a vulnerable boot1 some brick protection

I wanna delete my system menu :-(

The initial install does not format your card.

But the NAND backup does?
Thanks.

^ Correct.

Guys, where's the wavebird bug reported (someone said it was already reported, but can't see the bug on the hackmii site)?

hmm imma try this out ill uninstall homebrew channel from preloader and then reinstall it

Tested working, great tool, already backed up my NAND. BootMii wouldn't come up until i used an SD card with ONLY the bootmii folder on it, weird. Also, the BootMii option never showed up in my homebrew channel.

How did you put the homebrew applications on your hard drive? Was it in a apps folder, because it doesn't read them for me :/.

you have to do 2 partition on your hdd, one fat of max 30 gig , and the second one you create a new partition with the remaning and you DONT format it, then with eider usb loader or wbsf tool you format your second partition for your wii

the you juste drag and drop your SD in your FAT32
I think that would be obvious :/. Have you tested to see if it works?

Installed without any problem to boot2.
Already backed up my nand and only had 1 bad block.

preloader still works fine as well as the usb loader.

the only problem are the forwarder channels they boot from sd, we need to edit them to boot the dols from usb too, that would just be awesome

so would it be possible to dump the nand from one wii and flash it to another w/ bootmii? and is there a quicker way to remove preloader than downgrading systemmenu?

Nope this will not work like already said the NAND dump will only work for the Wii from where made the dump.

so how are the boot times? some reported it takes forever to boot even without SD card, but it seems it's not a common problem?

5 seconds maybe? It has a little countdown delay after bootmii is loaded (which took half a second to load).
