Sorry if this has been asked before, but do we have to see the BootMii menu every time we boot the Wii or can a default loading choice be chosen somewhere? I would like to have the NAND backup ability, but want Preloader/Crazy Intro to handle the Wii/Homebrew/custom channel loading abilities. Is this realistic or does the Bootmii menu load up every?

Thanks.

don't worry about the boot menu, simply don't use your "bootmii" SD card and your Wii will boot normally, it might take a couple seconds more to boot but everything will be like it was before bootmii
You only see the menu if you installed the bootmii stuff to the SD card, otherwise all you get is a slight delay in the booting process, bootmii IS installed on your system but doesn't load up.

Or simply, modify the bootmii.ini (uncomment autoboot line) inside your bootmii folder on your sdcard

For this to truely take over the system menu next step would be being able to add channels and wads.

It's not ment to be a system menu. it's meant to be a NAND backup and allow Homebrew to access every bit of the wii without being restricted by the system menu.
however it enables someone to develop a fully functional custom System Menu

Ok, so what bootmii basically does for now is offering more comprehensive brick protection since it backs up the entire NAND?

Got a few questions :

1) Preloader is just a patched systemmenu and it doesn't install anything into boot2? Thus installing bootmii into boot2 does not interfere with preloader?

2) Since installing bootmii into boot2 is the recommended way. What are the disadvantages of installing it as an IOS instead?

Your questions have already been answered in this thread. Someone want to start working on an FAQ and make a new thread?

any word on wiimote support?

There will be no Wiimote support i think because nothing is started to use the Wiimote when BootMii starts at least in the Boot2 Variant

1. Preloader and BootMii can co exist.
2.If you install it as IOS and something went wrong while restore a Backup BootMii is gone too

and the IOS can easily delted or overwritten with a Firmware update.
