Hi everyone, just started a BootMii recovery, and noticed in both the simulation and real thing, the first 10 or so blocks remain grey, while when I did the backup they were all green, is this normal? Wii has booted up and working fine afterwards thankfully, but just curious.

Yes. The first couple blocks are boot1 (which cannot be rewritten) and boot2 (which wouldn't make sense to restore), so these aren't restored.

BootMii avoids overwriting boot2 when restoring, so you don't lose BootMii and potentially end up with a brick.

Thanks for clarifying :) I dont think I actually wrote BootMii to boot2, so I guess I got lucky when I restored the nand that nothing went wrong
