    hey guys,

I've got several broken nintendo switch boards and I thought I should be possible to move a working cpu, nand, etc.. to another board where the cpu is broken. can you guys tell me which components need to be changed, or which components are tied together? As far as I know the CPU and the NAND are components like these, is there anything else like the wifi ic or something? and where are those components located?

    thanks!

Why should the NAND can't be swapped? When I swap the CPU as well it should work. If you JUST swap the NAND it won't work.

yeah but this lock has to be stored somewhere and I guess it's like on iPhones, it's locked to the CPU and not to the board itself. So do you know which components are tied together except NAND and CPU?

I was just thinking about this same thing. I have a board that someone destroyed the USB port but it works perfectly fine with a charged battery. I was thinking I could swap said components to make one that works...

Very interested to see results here

You can run wires from the usb port to points on the motherboard if you have the skills and patience for this. There is a post with alternate vias on the forum

    hey guys!

I finished the board swap yesterday. It took me a little bit longer since I had to reinstall 3-5 chips which I took away from the targed board as spare parts for other mainboards.

Board A (targed board): Had no issues as far as I can tell, except the issue that the caps near the USB chip were shortened even without the USB chip, so --> CPU damaged
Board B (source board): The only issue was that it didn't changed to the fast charging. No Image and stuck at 0.46 amps charging.

I thought maybe a component on board B is damaged which prevents charging and booting, therefore I tried the board swap. First I removed the CPU with the big noozle of the heatgun at around 400° for about 2-4min and a certain amount of air flow. Then reballing with the WYLIE WL-200 183° solder paste and reinstalling. Afterwards I removed the WIFI IC and reballed it with an iPhone stencil since I haven't received the stencil for the WIFI IC yet. I used 0.2mm balls instead of the solder paste because some pads must be left free (see images). Last but not least I reinstalled a BQ24193, a P13USB, a USB Port and a few other parts which I removed some time ago.

I did a check of the M92T36, seems to work as expected, around 3-4V on PIN 5 & 6. The BQ24193 looks also good and I can't find any shorts on caps near the important chips. Even the short near the USB ic was gone which indicates a faulty CPU. When I plug the usb cable in it starts charging at 0.46 amps again and the computer is able to recognize it, but it won't boot. So in my opinion the board swap worked, but I've the same symptoms as on board A since it's an issue with the CPU, or do you guys know how to fix the slow charging issue?

As soon as I get a working CPU + NAND + WIFI I'll do another board swap to check if it works 100%.
