I remember reading somewhere that Bluebomb has the potential to bypass certain types of bricks, but I don't think I ever saw anything else relating to the subject.
Were any bricks actually undone using Bluebomb? If so, what kind of brick? I don't have Linux, so I can't really test this for myself.

I guess probably banner bricks, where the home menu can't load but the system is otherwise fine.

The only successful example on the forum I can remember is this one:

Should be enough for a proof of concept concerning banner bricks.

There have been unsuccessful attempts with "003 Error" if I remember correctly.
