you guys sure the game has a card aspect. are you sure you just didn't midread the news!?

i mean seriously, the card game could be and i think is VER LIKELY totally seperate.

Well on one of the scans it clearly says role playing card game and it looks it is for the ds

it does say role playing card game. but the both parts that say "DS" are clearly seperated.

honestly i'm pretty sure they were just advertising the two products next to each other because they are of the same series.

Those cards on the scan are REAL CARDS.. they've nothing to do with the DS game (well.. actually they're also Blue Dragon).

that's a picture of the DS game (i think):

Can someone read it!? It seems that the picture is from a mini game in the game.

I did not know about this site and I really should have by now. It is now bookmarked. Great site (as I am sure you and a lot of people know)

I'm very disappointed to here it's going to be implementing cards. I remember playing Metal Gear Acid for the PSP. I had such high hopes and then when I started playing I found out it used cards. I didn't hear much about the game so the card thing totally caught me off guard. I barely played it, only completing 1-2 missions before dropping it. I loved Metal Gear Solid, but implementing cards was a huge step back.

I haven't played Blue Dragon for the XBOX 360 yet, but I'm hoping once summer hits to pick it up and give it a try. With RPG's you need a lot of time and I don't have that time right now. I can pick up a game here and there, just not enough time for an RPG.

@ds6220
Glad you like it

It has some great content though I haven't read anything on it recently except the Blue Dragon comics. Theres a lot of JPN only stuff translated very well on there, thats the main reason I use the site.

@CrEsPo
It's not using cards! The magazine that started the news was talking about an actual card based game of Blue Dragon on the same page. People mixed the two reports up and the rumor started that the DS game was going to be a card game!
Also the 360 game is very good, lots of fun. I'm glad I got it and didn't listen to any reviews as most of them bashed the game.

Thank God! I know game developers try to be innovative and original, but sometimes mixing things together (ie cards and FPS) just isn't a good idea. I'm glad to hear the game isn't going to use cards after all. This is one of the times you're glad to learn that you misinterpreted information

.

As for the XBOX 360 game. I also heard a lot of bad reviews, but most of them don't really offer any valid reasons. Most of them are bashing it for being too easy or not having the best graphics. Although having a game being to easy isn't a good thing, it's not necessarily a bad thing. I also don't buy games based on graphics. If a game has a good plot and good gameplay (I also seen some bashing because it had classic RPG gameplay ... umm it's an RPG, what are you expecting?) then I could care less about the graphics. Some of the best games to date are games from classic systems which don't have the greatest of graphics. Super Mario Brothers, Zelda, Starcraft, etc.

Blue dragon was a great game on the 360. I've never enjoyed playing an RPG so much since the Final Fantasy PS1 days, when the game was great. I knew before I even read the topic it would be some lame card game. I also thought the game had excellent graphics on the 360. The cut scenes looked great.
