Hacking Black Wii???????????

Hi i have black wii 4.1e and have found some things on here about if it can can be soft modded and it seems the main way is using the usb loader method but how do i check if i have a drive that will not allow me to use disc's and if i have to use the usb loader way can i put then on a usb stick or does it have to be a usb hdd? many thank in advance craig.

afaik, all black wii's have a drive that can't read backups
there could be exceptions though

thanks ,so which is the the best guide to use regarding soft modding i have used simplistic's for a white 4.1e can i use it on the black one?

yes, the simplistic mod works fine
as does the guide it links at the top

USB sticks will work fine as well. Although you will soon find that you probably want access to more than a couple games at a time and may find yourself looking for a Hard Drive. Be sure to check the Compatability Wiki before you buy one to make sure that its fully supported.
