Happy Easter to everyone.
I have two switches, one of them cannot connect at all to TV. I have tried different docks, tutorials to connect to TV, upgrading and downgrading firwmare, booting OFW or CFW: the console recognizes the dock and switch off the screen, it goes under charge, but the TV does not display anything. Tried also different cables and TVs, one switch works and the other one not.
I do not want to send it to Nintendo service otherwise I lose CFW, so I am tempted to send it to some shops where they can change the USB port (~65€). Is it a good idea?
Thanks in advance for given help.

Cheers,
Francesco

If I send the console to service I get a patched unit back. Is it correct?
What you would do in order to keep the exploit?
Thanks

If it work in Handheld mode and you don't want to send it for service, you can either get someone to replace that chip for you, or replace it yourself. You can also just use it for handheld mode if it work, or sell it to someone but you won't get very high price. Sending it to Nintendo only if you wipe the NAND clean and it is on warranty, they won't service it if there is any trace of CFW.

M92T36 faulty
or
PI3USB faulty
or
Murata / Panasonic ferrite filters faulty (under PI3USB) - there should be continuity going through them left/left and right/right signal lines.
or
PI3USB power supply filter caps (these go to gnd - check for open circuit)
or
PI3USB decoupling caps (these go inbetween PI3USB output and ferrite filters)
or
faulty USB port. Very possible!

Thank you very much for your advises.

I do not have good ability with soldering but I am able to disassemble and I have a multimeter.
Can you please tell me how to identify the faulty piece of hardware?

Many thanks!

I should have a NAND full backup made before using CFW.
Of course if I send to service I get a patched unit, don't I?

Reason of the full NAND backup before ever running any cfw is that if you didn't burn your fuse and if you ever want to play online you can restore the NAND and go online, you will get a patched unit if you send it into service if it still under warranty. If they find no trace of CFW, if they find trace of CFW they will just return it.

The console had working fine till the update to firmware 6.1 (unwillingly done via cartridge update). Does this info restrict the set of faulty hardware?

Dirmware update shouldnt kill HDMI.

It has to be the USB port. My guess anyway.

When you check TV output in your settings, do you have all resolution options? 1080p, 720p etc or just auto/480p. I have same issue and only shows 480p output.
