Hey everybody, first of all, I'm sure this exact same thread has probably been made hundreds of times already, sorry about that, but I'm at my wits end trying to set up UsbLoaderGX, or any Usb loader for that matter. So far I've tried three, that being GX, CFGUsbLoader, and Wiiflow. GX has been giving me the run around, from not recognizing the HDD (until partitioning that is) to freezing when installing wii discs, to going to a black screen when I try to play a wbfs file. CFG is... interesting to say the least. It WOULD install discs, but wouldnt recognize/detect wbfs files, and it seems to have corrupted(?) my HDD a fair number of times, causing me to reformat more than once. Wiiflow simply does not work.

Before saying anything else, I'll touch up on my hardware and other things of note. The HDD (NOT a flashdrive, I've seen the amounts of posts on here with people struggling to use UsbLoaders with flash drives...) is a Western Digital 1 TB My Passport, divided into two ~500 GB FAT32 partitions, I really only intend to use that first partition for the wii, and the second for Windows related things. My System version is 4.3U, and I've been softmodding it with (relative) ease for about two months now, Usbloaders are the only thing that seem to give me issue. Im not too tech savvy when it comes to things like cIOS' or IOS's that I have installed, so I'll leave a SysCheck down below that should hopefully include everything of importance.

Heres the SysCheck:

I've heard conflicting things about using d2x-v8-final instead of either the 52 or 53 betas when it comes to 249 and 250 but.... Hell if I know what to do!

In all seriousness though guys, I seriously appreciate you for slugging through this massive wall of text, if there's ANYTHING that I forgot to inculde in this post that you think would prove useful or helpful in helping me try to figure out what the hell is going on then please, just say the word.

Hello.:)

Thank you for your sysCheck,it is good.:)
Maybe you can try and change the cIOSes

IOS249[56] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS250[57] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

to

IOS249[57] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS250[56] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

Please check of these Points too:

- did you use the WiiBackupManager for the Game Transfer from the PC to the USB HDD ?

- your USB HDD is connected to the correct Port 0 ?
index.jpg

- if your HDD is still partitioned, please make one FAT32 Partition.
(you can use a Tool for it like FAT32 Formatter)
https://www.heise.de/download/product/fat32formatter-50072

- please notice that your HDD is recognized as MBR Drive and not GPT please:
img_56e628d28bd5b.png img_56e6297886fee.png

- please be sure to use USBloader GX latest Release v3,0 r1272
- in the Global Settings - Loader Settings check the Loader´s IOS please.
Try IOS249 if it is set to 58.

For the ConfiigurableUSBLoader please use the v70 r78.11 Mod.
https://wiidatabase.de/downloads/usb-und-disk-loader/configurable-usb-loader-mod/
(please use DIREKT-DOWNLOAD)

The WiiFLow Lite MOD from @fledge68 was updated to v5.4.1 a few Days earlier:
https://github.com/Fledge68/WiiFlow_Lite

Thank you and
Good Luck.:)

Hi, thanks for the quick reply!

Maybe you can try and change the cIOSes

IOS249[56] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS250[57] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

to

IOS249[57] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS250[56] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

I'll give that a try real quick and get back to you...

- did you use the WiiBackupManager for the Game Transfer form the PC to the USB HDD ?

- your USB HDD is connected to the correct Port 0 ?

Yes and yes, although when it comes to the wbfs files themselves, I've been mostly trying to obtain them by installing them onto GX via the discs themselves, but yes I am familiar with how Wii Back Up Manager works, and have used it in the past.
As for the USB port yes, I am using the correct one, I've even tried switching the port used in GX via the settings using IOS 222, but alas, no luck...

- if your HDD is still partitioned, please make one FAT32 Partition.

Are you sure? I found that when I did not at least shrink the volume size from the max (~930 GB) to around 500 GB or less, then GX would not even detect the drive, and would ask me if I wanted it to format it itself (into WBFS... you can bet I said no to that!). So far partitioning the drive in two has only helped, or so it seems...

- please notice that your HDD is recognized as MBR Drive and not GPT please:

This is the first thing so far that I can tell might be an issue, my drive is being recognized as GPT (GUID Partition Table), and not MBR... How would I go about changing that? And could this possibly be the source of my problems?

- please be sure to use USBloader GX latest Release v3,0 r1272
- in the Global Settings - Loader Settings check the Loader´s IOS please.
Try IOS249 if it is set to 58.

Yep, USB GX is at the latest release, and I have tried witching the Loaders IOS from 58 to 249 (even tried 222), but nothing different came of it.

For the ConfiigurableUSBLoader please use the v70 r78.11 Mod.

(please use DIREKT-DOWNLOAD)

I'll take a look at this now... Is there any special installment process, or do I just extract it to SD root and replace all identical files?

Thanks for such a quick reply, and thank you in advance if you decide to keep putting up with me ! Cheers.

Alright, so I swapped around the bases of the ISOs like you suggested and something seems to have changed, USB GX can now load into wbfs files on the HDD itself, but still seems to freeze and softlock the system when installing discs...

This is definetley an improvemment, but I would obviously prefer if I was able to sort out the issues that it has installing games

Thank you.
I am glad to hear.of your Progress.

Next Step is the MBR recognized,One Partion FAT32 formatted HDD.:D

You can try Tools like AMOEI Partion Tools to "change" the HDD but if I may recommend you please:

- please Backup your Games
- delete everything and wipe the Partitions to have a "clean" HDD.
- iinitialize the HDD as MBR and make one FAT32 Partition (you may have to make more Partitions on greater then 2 TB HDD´s)
- please use the WiiBackup Manager and/or the Install Option from the USBLoader GX to get the Games on the HDD again.

Thank you.:)

(and PLEASE tell me NOT Just Dance Games....:D).

Did you already have the Configurable USBLoader in use ?
Please unzip and copy the "apps" and "usb-loader" Folder to the Root of your SD Card.If it ask to merge confirm with YES please.
Please try it and let us see what happens.:)

Thank you.:)
