Ok this is seriously not good. Tegra keeps o saying "error injecting payload (RC=-2)" ad won't boot on the switch. The switch with still go into normal and RCM mode.

Try using TegraRCMSmash instead of TegraRCMGUI as I think this is one of its exclusive issues.

sweet, so smash worked (thank god.) Moving on to trying to boot a backup. I've got a xci rom file. Is it as just stick it on the memory card and boot (I know it's not from researching ) Is there a good guide?

There's really no need for a guide on how to use a homebrew application since the instructions accompanied within each respective homebrew are sufficient to run the program. Just read up on whichever tool you want to use to install your .XCI files:
dOPUS
ZeroTwoXCI

So I've managed to install a nsp file (yay) with doPUS. Whenever I try to install or convert a xci file, it says "Error processing files." Any ideas?

hmm, I have trued 4 different xci's, from 3 different sources. Used both dopus and zeroTwoXCI to attempt the install. Dopus said "Error processing files." ZeroTwoXci installed it, but said the file was corrupted when I try to start it through the switch menu.

Bump! Still no luck. Been reading everywhere.

now I'm getting "Failed to open system file with id. Error code: 0x00234c02" when I try to install with ZeroTwo. I'm on zeroTwo 1.0 and tinfoil 0.2.1. I'm using a 128 sd card, but it's legit.

So I'm back. 6.01 removed the ex-fat update. Can I just install the 6.0 update like before? If not, what firmware do i need?

get sx lol or get ur keys which ever

I'm having the same problem as OP but my Switch is on 6.1 so is presumably okay with exFAT, right? Any ideas what it might be? I've checked a few different guides that I know have worked for other people on other communities and I've followed them to the letter. I get the Nintendo logo, then a black screen. Then I can hold down the buttons to get back to RCM after 12 seconds or so.

EDIT: I tried with another SD card, a FAT32 one. Time it worked - but why would it only work with FAT32 since my Switch is on 6.1?

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I already have 6.1, though, so shouldn't I already have exFAT compatibility?

Assuming that there's bizarrely a non-exFAT version of 6.1, I read the Choi OP and it says you need to place the exFAT version for your current OFW version on the SD. It also says to get the OFW you need a game with it "on-disc". But the thing is, as far as I know, no game needs 6.1 yet so wouldn't that particular OFW unattainable that way? He lists games that come with various OFWs but only goes as recent as 5.1.

since gbatemp rules don't allow it, you will need to find the firmware files on your own. once you have them, place them on root of the sd card, load choi and update away.

Yeah that's fine, I wasn't asking for the file itself, but just asking what game would have 6.1 exFAT on? And also asking for clarification since I am currently running 6.1 so shouldn't exFAT work anyway?

EDIT: Never mind, it's sorted now.
