Why did you try this ? Is your Wii a LU64+ or equivalent ?

When did you buy it ? Is it fairly new ?

If so, I'm afraid you're screwed..

Afraid? If it's one of the boot2v4 Wiis, it's fully bricked now. BootMii as boot2 can't be installed as boot2 on these, and preloader wouldn't work, even if it was installed directly after the downgrade before the system reboot.

I tried it because i coulndt run any backup loaders and couldnt install wad files through wad manager so accordign to the tutorial, this would downgrade from 4.0 to 3.2, if it wouldn't then why is this tutorial listed on this website?

I dont have LU64 + or higher

It should have worked but didnt and by the look of it im not the only one with this problem!

Go buy a new Wii, update to 4.1, use TBR, cios14 and NGR6/7.

(There is no need to downgrade ever! 4.1 can do everything 3.2 can)

Then take your old Wii back on the receipt for the new one, and say you're "sick of things you buy there not working!"... they will refund you.

I agree though, out dated guides or overly complicated guides should be removed or archived out of the way of noobs.

Perhaps a spring clean is in order for GBATemp.

The guide isnt that bad actually, and 3.2U isn't a bad system menu but it should have cautions cause yeah, people do screw up.

And its dangerous to begin with. Need boot2 replacement really before doing it.

Only because your Wii is not a NTSC one, it's not possible it's one of the boot2v4 Wiis? Also, where and why did you dig a 3 months old thread out?

Well that would be a real fucked up thing to do !
He messed up his Wii, and now the shop keeper has to pay for his mistake ??
I know Nintendo will probably replace it no charge, but I don't think it's right to do it this way.

Ironically I'm a manager at a game store, but have never bricked a Wii ... yet.

You never get charged back for any sort of software "fault" only if the machines are physically damaged (cracked plastic/bits missing).

Trust me it will be fine.

... i dont know how i sleep at night...

.. meh its up to you guys ultimately, depends where he/she got it.
