Hacking Black epoxy on new Wiis

Hi guys my mate brought me his wii to chip and once I opened it up I realised that it had the black epoxy all over it.

I know I can get rid of it with a heatgun/hairdryer, but can I still install a solderless wiiclip on it?

You have to chip away at the ceramic as well - take some photos and upload of you wouldnt mind please - id like to see the epoxy.

Why not soft mod it ?

I found a good video about 10mins ago.. I can't find it now though lol

Edit: I've closed it up again and gave it back to him. I said I'll call him when I figure out what I have to do.

I've only got solderless wiikey 2's though.

could this be the sign for softmods to take over on the new Wii's

although that would make Nintendo focus more on locking us out...

Thanks slowking, but I've been through that page.

It shows how to install a 6 wire chip, I want to know if I can install a solderless chip if I remove all epoxy.

I found the video.. It's for removing epoxy off a 360 not a wii.. my mistake.

Simpel: You can't!
A wii-clip will never hold on that, as you'll never get all the Epoxy off the board/chip.

@ Diffusion. I don't think that's a viable solution as Ozmodchips have them for $155.. Waaaay too much

As for the gamma softmod.. I've never heard of it, but when do you think it will be released?

He is assisting - WiiGator is releasing the loader but waiting for a little code from waninkoko - loader beta is pretty good and ive used gamma - its made me think about moving away from mod chips

Epoxy is fairly easy to get rid of although the chemicals are not so nice:
