Hi guys my mate brought me his wii to chip and once I opened it up I realised that it had the black epoxy all over it.

I know I can get rid of it with a heatgun/hairdryer, but can I still install a solderless wiiclip on it?

    I have been.
I found a good video about 10mins ago.. I can't find it now though lol

Edit: I've closed it up again and gave it back to him. I said I'll call him when I figure out what I have to do.

I've only got solderless wiikey 2's though.

i too would like to see the new drive chipsets

could this be the sign for softmods to take over on the new Wii's

although that would make Nintendo focus more on locking us out...

    looks like its GAME ON

Thanks slowking, but I've been through that page.

It shows how to install a 6 wire chip, I want to know if I can install a solderless chip if I remove all epoxy.

I found the video.. It's for removing epoxy off a 360 not a wii.. my mistake.

    Simpel: You can't!
A wii-clip will never hold on that, as you'll never get all the Epoxy off the board/chip.

Unless anyone else has other ideas for me?

Yeah bloody Nintendo.. why won't you just let me rip you off? lol

    GAMMA?

    LOL

@ Diffusion. I don't think that's a viable solution as Ozmodchips have them for $155.. Waaaay too much [IMG]

@ playallday- I was trying to figure out how you got $104 from $155. LOL the shitty Aussie dollar!!!

Too bad I LIVE in AUS, so it's $155 for me.

As for the gamma softmod.. I've never heard of it, but when do you think it will be released?
