i had an update from microsoft and let my pc re-start now it cannot boot in any mode, i do have an xp boot disc but its not the original one will it still work as a recovery disc????????

The only thing i can get into is the screen where you get the boot options
Safe mode
safe mode with networking
Safe mode (something i cant remember)
Last known good settings
Start windows normally
and whenever i choose one it tries to boot it then goes back to that same screen i tried putting in the real windows xp home 2002 cd that came with the computer ( its old but not as old as the one im on now) and it wont even try to boot the disc any help and i dont have a floppy disc to make a back from this pc either what my happen is it may be takken to my mates work to try see whats wrong with it.
