Now that Trump has taken office, Biden's time officially comes to an end. I do wonder, what is his legacy? If any. For me, he always felt like a transitional president, who with his one term, didn't truly made an impact. There were also no really memorable events during his time (like Bush had 9/11). Sure, there was Covid, but that was already there when he started his term.

Cognitive issues aside, I feel he will be a president that will be forgotten in time.

What's your take?

Do keep it civil, and on topic. This isn't about Trump or other politicians, but about Biden.

Bidenomics is a dumb word, but it's a thing. That is: the whole world had an economic dip after covid, but the us bounced back better than most other countries.

You want to do a comparison with De Croo? Or better: Wilmes?

Sidestep aside: i fear heel mostly be remembered for what he didn't do, or insufficient.
The right constantly blame him for interference, but as a result of that there was a free pass on freaking anything Trump did. James and Smith filled entire libraries with evidence and it all just got delayed. This time for years ago the recounts of the election were all the news talked about. Now? Has there even been a single investigation in how a convicted alzheimer patient and the richest person in the world could just conveniently take all battleground states? Again: apathy.

I think most of Belgian has already forgotten about Wilmes. But none Belgian, and even most European, leaders in recent history will make their mark in history. The US is still the heart of the West, and makes the bigger impact into history.

Covid did lead to a financial crises world Wide. It's another debate if Biden decisions helped or made things worst, but it isn't a gift to start a term with. I feel it was a bit too much for him, which didn't help the cognitive issues. When you hear Biden talk before and after he dropped out of the race, it's a night and day difference. Clearly the stress was taking its toll.

But in the end, for a president that got a record amount of votes, it can be argued that his presidency failed to live up to the expectations.

It should be the evidence that centrism doesn't work. Far too many people on the so-called left have gotten far too comfortable with very rich people getting even richer. A massive look in the mirror is needed to improve people's lives meaningfully so they feel it. A lot of people have never recovered from the 2008 crash.

Cleaned up Trump's joke of a COVID response and the near-depression economy he was left with. Tried to do some good things as far as student debt and medical debt relief go. That's about all he had time or enough support to accomplish. Overall was more progressive than I thought he'd be, but it still should've been Bernie because he would've been re-elected. Now the country will take several giant steps backward and we wait to see which Democrat Americans beg to play janitor after Trump's second term shitshow.

Didn't Biden promise to be a one term president and let a young new leader get the nomination after him? That would have been a good idea, why didn't he do it?

He did do it, but admittedly too late. Should've bowed out at least a year in advance to give the party the time to pick a nominee through a primary. Thing is, elderly people with dementia/Alzheimer's don't have an objective understanding of just how far they've declined, and the rest of us weren't given the full picture until the first debate either.

Trump has similarly been in decline for several years now, but a drop from 20 to 10 IQ isn't as noticeable, so it's easier for Republicans to pretend everything's fine.

Because it wasn't a promise but a suggestion?

Yes, it's a nitpick, but this is a thread about Biden's legacy. If the one thing you remember from a past president is something he never formally promised, then it doesn't say anything about him but more about you.

He had a good presidency, but he failed to stop Trump from cheating his way in. He'll be remembered as a failure, for that alone. His last action, his crowning moment, was being followed by a dictatortot.

Trump was not only elected fair, he won every single battleground state, so clearly the people wanted him.

And you clearly haven't been paying attention to how bad the fraud has already been found to be, or Trump's words in general. But that doesn't surprise me, his supporters are single digit IQ warriors after all.

sure sure, tons of evidence... you guys really take it hard it seems. Funny, when Trump said there was fraud in 2020, you were screeching how there was zero evidence. Now that he won, you guys are screeching there was fraud, with zero evidence...
Trump won fair and square, Kamala was a horrible candidate. Deal with it, because idiotic things like you're saying makes you look like the single digit IQ warrior. Maybe learn from the fact why your side lost so hard.

I am pretty sure there’s definitely worse presidents. Trump’s first presidency was a complete joke and his second is turning out even worse. So at least Biden isn’t Trump, which is weak accomplishment
