AMC and Sony Pictures Television confirmed today that they have reached a licensing agreement for a spinoff of Vince Gilligan’s landmark AMC/Sony Pictures Television series Breaking Bad. As conceived, the new series is based on the show’s popular Saul Goodman character with the working title Better Call Saul. Plans call for Saul to be a one-hour prequel that will focus on the evolution of the popular Saul Goodman character before he ever became Walter White’s lawyer.

In all honesty, all of the characters in the show could have a backstory. I'd like to see one of Jesse of his school years. Maybe one of Walt. Jr before he eats breakfast..

At first I thought it was gonna happen after Breaking Bad, which pissed me off thinking it was a spoiler guaranteeing Saul lives (nothing against him living, just don't want no damn spoilers)

I don't like that it's a prequel mainly because I'll know Saul's fate at the end of the series so I won't be invested towards something leading into another something that I'll already know.

Wouldn't be much of a spoiler if it was a sequel considering Saul is supposed to be the cockroach/cowardly character of the series. Those characters always live in the end.

It can only be done really well, or it'll just jump the shark.

I have a good feeling that it's gonna be bad.
