Best way to make DVDrips

I would like to make aXXo like DVDrips. I scoured the net and found autogk seems to be the most popular encoding program.

my question is, are there any other ways that are better in terms of speed/quality/ease of use?

Use x264 with --preset veryslow --crf 18

ConvertXtoDVD look for it.
Its just a simple drag and drop your avi file ,put in a disc and click convert and it will even burn it for you too.
I tried autogk that is such a pain to use!
ConvertXtoDVD makes chapters menus and burns it why use anything else

Handbrake is good for ripping DVDs, however it doesn't do avi.

I use a cracked copy of Magic DVD Ripper.
It works wonderfully, plus it can rip to multiple formats, not to mention it circumvents copy protections on its own.

Just a few notes:
1. When getting it, it's spelled "Magic DVD Riper"
2. Don't let it connect to the net. I just use Safe Mode, and that does the job.
