No it all depends on the client.
I have a really fast connection. When i was using uTorrent all my torrents were slow as fuck.
But when i switched to BitTorrent All my torrents worked and were super speedy.

ok as utorrent can utililize 100% of my bandwith it cant rly be slow as fuck...
ur configuration is either fucked up
or u having too much paralell downloads
or ur router sucks and cant handle that much connections
or ur upload is set to high (yes it can negatively affect ur download rate)

go learn to configure ur hard- and software

i use Azureus/Vuze and Deluge or sometimes Transmission it depends on what else i'm doing on that pc and what pc/os i'm on at that moment in time.

Yeah, this is gonna come off being a noob question.

So I go to download an ISO for A Boy and His Blob with uTorrent. Unfortunately, my download speed for it is like, at most, 6-8kb/s. How do I make it faster? Is it the site (which I won't give away, but it's a very common one) or do I need to fiddle with settings? Mind you I've never used torrents in my life so I'm not as adept to this stuff as you guys.

Configure your ports. I assume your computer has a static ip?

I use uTorrent, so I'd recommend that, mainly because it's easy and I can run it in the background without it consuming my entire computer's speed.

Why must you be so childish? It's like you want to win this argument at all costs.

Speed is NOT affected by the client, but indeed the connection status and the state of the torrent (seeders, leechers, tracker, etc...).

I can easily flaw your logic by testing Transmission and uTorrent on different platforms. Same interval of speed, with the same torrent, but different clients.

So I strongly suggest you go learn something about networks and how data is transmitted via the TCP/UDP protocol before coming on here and ridiculing people just because you fail to admit that it's your issue.

Most people use uTorrent because it's light and does what it says best...which is managing torrents.
