I've seen quite a few programs available, and I've used a few, but usually the video that comes out has artifacts. Where as I follow a particular guy's ds uploads for tv series, and his old videos had the same problems, but not his new ones. I asked him if he started using different settings/programs etc etc and he wouldn't tell me unfortunately. So what is the best program/ideal settings for watching stuff in the built-in media player in sakura? I've tried the recommended settings I've seen but as I said, artifacts throughout, so those must be old standards. And obviously I can't use dpg4 without using moonshell 2.

sakura has a native format called dsm, try using that.

the converter for that format is the m3sakura firmware installer.

I would use dsm but it's very "bulky" (one half hour episode turns into 1gb usually) My point was if it's encoded correctly, dpg works flawlessly. But with the wrong settings it ALWAYS has artifacts.

Well, you might as well just attempt using the dpgtools that probably goes along with dpg3 (maybe bundled with the M3Sakura...though I doubt it, you might have to search for it) since I find that the dpgtools converter that comes with each version works the best. Quite frankly, I would say to just use Moonshell2 for watching the videos since if you use the most compact version, its only maybe a 10-20mb bit of space for fairly perfect videos that definitely don't bulk up to massive sizes when converted.

I used to convert my videos with DPGtools, but I don't know what I uninstall the last time that now is not working properly, now I use Xilisoft DPG converter, but......now it takes too long when I try to forward the video, and with the videos converted with DPG tools the forward is instantanely, I say.......download all kind of tools and check wich one fits your needs...!!

DPG tools works perfectly, and it automatically uses dpg4, so I guess I can use moonshell 2. Only downside is can't find the firmware reset file (which means I have too turn off my ds anytime I'm done with moonshell) Settings I use (for those who are interested) Audio bitrate-128, Video bitrate-448, FPS-22. Videos turn out smooth/no artifacts/looks very nice

i don't know how you get that, here 1 whole movie in dsm is 500MB.
