Please stop bullshitting and scaremongering with pointless cap.

Mig switch is confirmed to work.

You guys really need to start learning about how these things work before believing shit stories like this :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

FYI: if you can't be bothered to google... the lotus 3 chip responsible for cart encryption was cracked a while back, the mig switch works because it knows how to respond to the checks by the chip.

TheFlow wouldn't make their findings public, as they send them in to the bug bounty program and expect it to be patched before anyone could attempt them.

He's now banned, too. Anyways. Most of his story was fabricated with little to no sources to backup his claims, almost sounds like he generated this with ChatGPT. Yet somehow this gets shared everywhere online without pointing out the clear obvious, and it unfortunately puts this community in a bad light.

How come I can't see the X symbol under the word Member?

If someone wondering why he got banned wasn't for the story but for having an alt account.
I don't care about alt accounts but people who purposely spread false information deserve to get banned.

I mean we already know from the leaks of the system that it won't accept Switch games yet, since it needs the day 1 patch. So even if the someone with a Mig Flash got a hold of a Switch, it won't be possible to try it yet.

Where, please, is there something with proof? The article is from April. And of course Nintendo will install an indicator that recognizes the Mig cards and bricks your console. And quite honestly, people deserve that.

Lawsuits in the EU for that. So no. It won't brick your console.

Yeah i checked this out yesterday, it's from April. Well need a newer source or an update on this one with pictures.

Ok, so guys, I have read all the messages till now but it is not clear to me: what should I do when I get my Switch 2? Leave it sealed, or update to Day 1 patch and install the SD express, & then put it into airplane mode forever?

So firstly replying to this latest post.

I don't know yet or haven't heard if the new firmware updates will be signed or anything similar to how Apple does it now with iPhone releases, that you can only install firmware if the firmware is signed, this could be the initial issue with a sw2 early exploit.

For all the haters or doubters, please see MVG's video below; this explains what I'm saying about Lotus 3 and it's source.

If the mig-switch is detected (without doubts already) does it matter, it's cat and mouse from here... they'll just need to update the firmware on the chip to respond accordingly.

R4 all over again.

So yeah, go order up lol

is it worth buying 2 switch 2s for the chance of maybe getting a exploit in the near future, i cant see there being any exploits for atleast 3 years

The chance of a softmod is next to zero (remember that Switch 1 has none). Any hacking would be based in hardware, then it wouldn't matter if you kept one on a lower firmware.

That's incorrect. Switch firmware has exploits up through 7.x.x called Caffeine (only developed up through 4.10 and theoretical to 7.x.x iirc) but almost all of the vulnerable Switches were early units with the RCM exploit already so it didn't matter and then mod chips were developed for patched units. So they existed, but there is a path-of-least-resistance force. No one is going to put in all the time and effort to find a new softmod when there's soft/hardmods out already.

Yeah sure, exploits exist for older firmwares. Not since late 2017 (or theoretically 2019). It's not useful in this discussion. There is still nothing for anything after that. The developer of Atmosphère says the microkernel has no vulnerabilities (not "none discovered", none at all), so this means Switch 2 will almost certainly have no softmods *at all*, even if you want to include older versions.

As of today, we don't know what Nintendo plans to do about the people who tamper with their consoles. Therefore, such reports are highly dangerous. What if Nintendo does recognize the cards and blocks consoles or accounts? So don't jump to conclusions and wait and see. I don't think Nintendo is that stupid and hasn't thought anything through.
