We all know Mario games have catchy music, but which one has the best?
I went with all the games with Mario as the Main character, except for Yoshi's Island, simply because of how awesome the music was.
And RPG games...I would've added a different Poll but I'm limited to 3 so sorry!
And when newer games come out, I'll probably add them, though you can't vote more than once ;_;
Now Decide!

And you can have several votes in all but the last category

Definitely Galaxy, it is generally well composed music. I'll give Nintendo that this generation, they've definitely improved their musical standards (see SSBB, Twilight Princess). Still, I won't put Mario music as stellar. It's fun and lighthearted but certainly nothing I'd listen to in my free time.

The original Mario Galaxy is the first mario titles that I really noticed the music in. I think its because of the fact it was orchestrated. Good Egg Galaxy is simply amazing with the music, and a lot of the other ones are good. Though I cant say that it really holds a crown to Zelda music.

I'm going to have to go with Super Mario World on both accounts (2D / Music).

Still in the process of finishing Galaxy, but love it so far.

IMPOSSIBLE to listen to this without goosebumps.

I'd say Galaxy has the most enjoyable soundtrack. It has that epic feeling.

My favorite track will always be the Underground theme and its remixes. Specially its remixes.

Good egg galaxy's music just makes me feel happy, so I definitely choose SMG for the 3D marios
BUT! Super Mario World beats them all IMO, I find myself humming some tunes from it.

I would of enjoyed Super Mario Galaxy's music more if it wasn't so linear

Underwater levels, fuck yeah

2D : Super Mario World
3D : Mario Galaxy

Super Mario World is the first mario I memorized the musics from, and I'm still remembering them

I liked a lot the haunted house and sub-castle, the plains too. well a lot of them.
I voted for Super Mario World in the "best of all", even if Galaxy's musics were great and orchestrated, I'm nostalgic for SNES.

none of those games has the best music

the best OST is from MARIO TENNIS!

motoi sakuraba is one hell of composer!

Super Mario World definitely has the most memorable.

Vaguely related - Anyone heard of Owen Pallett?

Hard choice...

I loved Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy's soundtracks a lot, but if I had to pick one, it would have to be Super Mario Sunshine. It's just so upbeat, and it fit the game so well. Galaxy is definitely in 2nd place though.

I also like SMB2's tracks, even though I despised the game. NSMB had some pretty good music as well.
