what do you guys use to trim roms, without overtrimming them and loosing some parts of the games?

It's pretty minimalistic as far as bells and whistles. It is like the original Bejeweled/Diamond Mine where there aren't any wild pieces or bombs and not many graphical effects. It's good for a Bejeweled-away-from-home alternative though.
