Hacking Best Flash cart for Multimedia use only

Hey guys,
I'm looking for recommendations for the best flash cart if I want to use the flash cart mostly for multimedia purposes. I'm not so interested in the roms or homebrew right now. I'm looking for a flash cart that will let me play movies, tv shows, read e-books and read txt files well and has a nice, newbie friendly user interface. I'm completely new to flash carts. Right now I'm considering between the M3 DS Simply and the Cyclo DS. Any adivice is gladly appreciated.

Either will do the job just as well. I'd go for the CycloDS to future-proof your needs for when you want to play games and use download play.

The datel games 'n music (or something similar) now has a DLDI file (which enables homebrew and thus audio/video) and can be picked up in a real world store for pretty cheap.

You will still have to convert video to a format that can be read.

Personally I suggest you go with a rom running cart though as some of them are starting to support SDHC which is nice for audio and such.

Pretty much all modern flashcarts can run the same multimedia applications, so as far as thats concerned it really doesn't matter too much.

if you dont like DS games too, i heard that PSP has higher advantage over media playbacks.

If that's just the it then go with what FAST6191. They're cheap and can be found at your local gamestore.

In all seriousness, any flashcart that runs Moon Shell is good enough for multimedia use. I recommend an R4, they're relatively affordable, runs homebrew with no problems (especially Moon Shell) and has near excellent compatibility with NDS Games (just in case you want to make a switch to .... yeah)

Thanks so much for your help guys. I love DS games so using a PSP or other multimedia device wasn't a consideration and right now anyway, I'm happy to pay for my games so I wasn't really considering the flashcart for the rom aspect. I ended up picking up the R4 DS today. I found a supplier in my area that had them in stock so I didn't need to wait to get it shipped to me and based on what I've read here in the forum and in the gbatemp review, it also seemed like a decent card choice.
