I'm either going to get Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim, which would you guys suggest for my Wii discs?

Also, I am getting a D2Pro 9. Is there any special steps I need to take to burn games? I will be burning a Dual Layered copy of Smash Bros Brawl.

verbatim -dvd for normal sized games (just burn the image with 8xspeed)
verbatim +dvd for double layer (use imageburn and set a layerbreak to 2084960 ;2,4xspeed)

Yeah, I was stuck between Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim. Thanks for the Layerbreak info though, didn't know that.

Um, Taiyo Yuden is the media dye, not the disc name. I have Verbatim DVD-Rs that are Taiyo Yuden.
I think you're wrong about that, I googled for a bit and they are definitely not the same.

Taiyo Yuden is the company that produces the DVDs.
Verbatim is the company that purchases the DVDs from Taiyo Yuden and other companies.
Hence why you can buy Taiyo Yuden branded discs and Verbatim branded discs, which are made by Taiyo Yuden.

It's like when you purchase a monitor from Samsung or Dell, the LCD panels in the monitors, are made by a different company eg. AOC, Phillips, Chimei.

Get the Taiyo Yuden, as you will know you are getting top quality media, instead of getting Verbatim with a lucky dip of Taiyo Yuden or other company made.

Taiyo Yudens. They're more expensive but trust me, they are way better then Verbatim.

TDK dvd-r is also fine

I agree. TDK are great also, been burning Wii games on them for a long time and never had a problem with them.
