This games controls are a lot like CoD.
The movement system is very fresh and lightweight opposed to the chunky CoD one.
Plus the graphics are more, well, alive...(No Brown thankyou... >.>)
I doubt the movement system in CoD is chunky. It's the other way around, just about all shooters move chunky and cumbersome, except CoD.
I doubt they fixed that in this version, judging from the many footage I've seen.

I downloaded the beta a few days ago via a Warez forum, but it doesn't work yet.... Keeps crashing when I try to join a server :/
Can I legally download this game, probably via Origin?
Yes, the open beta is available to download for free and legally from within the Origin client, just click on the 'Free Games' tab once inside the client to find the BF3 beta there
Cool, I'll uninstall the illegal one and download it via Origin then. Really looking forward to play it, to see what the fuzz is all about.

If this is an indication of the full release, I´m happy I did not preorder. I constantly get errors with Battlelog and even getting inside a server is too hard, my session expires and I'm asked to re-log.
What hits even worse is the fact that they cannot even fix a fucking install path. How hard is it to replace a "é" with an "e"!? I even had to make another Origin account to be able to log in to Battlelog.
I wonder if they even tested it.
Doubt it, it's cheaper to just let us test it

I managed to get into the game somehow, played the Metro map.
I placed a health kit by accident and started using it as some sort of cover, it was pretty cool.

Is there Singleplayer in the beta?

I'm guessing not...
Guessing right.
*sigh* I guess I'll pass this up, though I've seen it in action...I don't think I'd like it anyway, all that talk from me about it likely being a BFBC3 is apparently true.

I pre-ordered it for the PS3. My PC can handle it at 1680x1050 at low settings (still looks great btw, and better than the consoles), but my brother's crappy laptop can't. We had Bad Company 2 as well, but he never plays it, so I said fu and pre-ordered it for the PC

It doesn't look good on the PS3 and Xbox, really... It looks like on the PC but with 1280×720 @ the very lowest settings. That's why I'm buying it for the PC. 64 player support, yaay

About the beta, there are a few bugs, such as proning under textures (grass, ...) and some sort of "hopping" bug, where you go up and down real quick. I really like the animations when jumping over something, really cool. The controls and weapon handling are now more COD-like, which I think is better. The controls in BF2 where too stiff, or something..

I would just recommend everyone to buy it for the PC, because it doesn't look good on the consoles and it has only 24 player support, which kinda sucks in comparison to the 64 player support the PC has.

There is too much crap to install to be able to play this game. The DRM is so bloated that it could count as a game itself and the stupid origin setup wouldn't even install for me anyway.

I played the beta on the ps3 and so far i think you die to fast, they need to tell you what the hell you're doing, my tv's pretty old so every word on screen except for ones with big font are unreadble.

Played on PC and 360 I was really disappointed. You die way too fast and the controls are not great.

Getting this shit for PC! BF2 is the best Battlefield I've ever played and Bad Company 2 is very good too. BF3 feels like a mix of both with some new. Combined with jets it's a winner. Anyway, just played a round where the other team were full of doofuses. All my kills were lulz-worthy. Brb running past entire squad literally next to them without them noticing and poppin a cap in their asses. Beta good but no vehicles, full version be better I guarantee.

I'm playing it on PS3 and the lag is unbelievable. I will get killed (I assume) but then carry on playing for a couple of seconds until suddenly it brings me back to where I was when I died.

Just played it. Quite good once you know what you're doing. And I've definitely improved from last place to about 7th (out of 20ish) on the leader boards.

At first it seems like you're the only one who's crap, but as you get better you realise everyone is crap too (apart from a few l33t players)

It was okay, kept falling through the floor a lot. You die VERY quickly compared to BF2. Every 10 minutes or so I would whitescreen and have to force close the program.

As for FPS I got between 55 and 82 (i7 2600k, EVGA GTX570) at stock speeds with 100% max settings. The new nvidia drivers really improve BF3 performance, in case you're getting low fps.

So I've surprisingly just played for an hour and a half. But I think I have my final impressions of the beta.

I liked it a lot. The controls feel great, it looks gorgeous, it doesn't feel unbalanced and it's pretty fucking fun.
I think EA should have more and better servers though but I like to think that they'll get them once the full game comes out. Also, the prone glitch is pretty annoying.

So overall, a great experience that could've stayed more in the oven, can't wait for the full game to come out.

meh it was okay...
but as the other say you die to fast freaking annoying, and so many bugs (yeh i know its the beta still...)
and so many camping.. and they said COD is full of campers

but still i liked it just love to use the svd without scope

There was this funny glitch where a tank just shot into the air.

Tried the PS3 version. Lots of people gathering in small spaces (that = easy kills), fairly laggy, dumb controls. Not to mention the fact it froze 3 times in my less-than-30min experience with it.

Also, they decided to use the PC's 64-player maps on the consoles with only 24 players. Way too much open space, some parts of the map feel completely empty at times.

so far
took about 1 hour to get the game to work - had to turn the mouse raw imput mode off - was casuing the game to do absolutely none of the mouse imputs for around 1 minute after it was done
played about 3 rounds and fell through the once ground and got a ton of kills with glitches
not a bad game but bc2 is better imo
