Interested in how everyone's battery life is compared to mine. I tested using BatterySteve with a PSP-1000 @ 333/166 and 100% brightness with an OSTENT "2200mAh" Battery Pack. That capacity claim is dubious, but I bought this battery after glowing reviews it received from some trusted figures in the community.

Attach your own results and battery model below if you wish to share.

I wish I were still using my original battery.
My PSP 2000's battery became a spicy pillow in my handhelds drawer and the pressure blasted the battery door through the entire storage space with an audible "snap" when it happened during one random evening about a year ago.
Since then, the battery lies dormant in a ziplock bag in case of battery acid leakage.
As for the PSP itself, it had thankfully suffered no damage other than a broken plastic notch from the battery door.
That thing was already kind of loose anyway so maybe that was what saved it from exploding or something lol

My original still "works" but the total capacity is severely handicapped by now. Sorry for your loss, but you're probably right that it's good you found it when you did.
Last time I had actually used it it would easily last for 3-4 hours of moderate gaming, so I was pretty shocked to find out it had bloated in nearly twice its original size when I left it in storage unused for a couple of years.
As for finding it out, I pretty much had to go find what the heck happened because that was quite a loud noise when the battery door gave up holding up the pressure.
Luckily for me, it was one of the consoles that was stacked above everything else in that drawer, thankfully nothing bad happened other than that.

Anyway, back on topic, I am not a battery expert but having it run at maximum capacity for well over 3 hours seems quite good to me, I have no idea how long the original PSP lasted in comparison but I would assume that is close enough to consider the replacement worth getting.

I get a little bit over four hours on my ostent battery. I've used it for 50-100 hours. It's great in my opinion. IPS screen at full brightness. My OG battery never bloated but it lasts about two hours so the capacity decreased over two decades in a drawer.

Is this with or without overclock? Also is it in BatterySteve or just something you tested doing normal gameplay? I want to do the IPS screen replacement at some point, but when I do I'll also need to do a shell swap and it seems pretty hard to find a quality aftermarket housing.

I just tested it by timing it when leaving the psp on when I got the battery. I wanted to see for myself. Impossible to remember as it's about a year ago but I was at a little bit over 4 hours. I left one of the Tomb Raider games running in a 3d scene. I hadn't even heard of "BatterySteve" until I googled it just now. I run pro cfw and I think I've overclocked the psp. I did buy a transparent third party shell but after some research decided not to do the full swap. I bought black top shell on aliexpress that actually look great. I installed a glass screen. It's awesome. My best overall tip is stay the hell away from joystick replacements and try to use your original. That's my experience anyways.

Hello everyone. I finally decided to buy what is considered the best battery for psp, the famous Ostent brand. But I noticed that the seller has two versions available; 1200 and 1400 mAh. Is there a substantial difference between the two? The second one lasts a little longer, I suppose.... 🤔 🤷🏻‍♂️
Which one do you recommend, buddies? Thanks and sorry if I went off topic.

Generally, my advice would be to get the highest capacity you can make sense of. If the price isn't too high, get the larger of the two.

Ok buddies, I just got the new, famous battery from Aliexpress; I immediately made sure it came from its original company, since there are several fakes circulating there. For now I can only say that it weighs a little more than the original PSP battery, and that's a good sign. 👍
