I realize it deteriorates the overall battery capacity more quickly, but does it actually make the battery stats inaccurate? Im speaking of when the battery info "de-syncs" from the actual displayed battery %.

drain the battery completely till the switch goes off then wait 30 min and let it charge overnight even if it shows 100% let it charge for another hour and it will re calibrate
(this is straight from nintendos support site)

and your other option would be https://github.com/CTCaer/battery_desync_fix_nx

Well actually this was posed as a question. Thank you for those steps tho. I wanted to know, can I play on Max OC on OLED without the battery desyncing? I am okay with it dying fast as long as it doesn't desync. I was curious what exactly are the causes of desyncs

It drain the battery faster when you overclock the cpu, if you want to keep the battery healthy, keep the percentage in between 20% and 100%. You may as well take a look at your hekate battery report.

Dying fast is fine. Getting fake battery percentages is bad though. All of this advice is quite helpful. I am still wondering if I max GPU, CPU and RAM will my switch simply die fast but remain with accurate battery readouts? or will it die fast AND desync? I do not know exactly what does and does not desync.

It will drain the battery faster, so it die faster.

I believe Hekate applies this fix automatically so it should not be necessary to run anything specific for it.

If you oc too much on battery and get shutoffs at above 1% that's bad it's a low voltage emergency shut-off and can desync the battery I believe. If you are overclocking on battery make sure get at least 2 hours of battery life, avoid getting those shuttoffs and don't draw more then -8w and undervolt if you do.
For me -8w on v2 that's 1963/998/2400 with a large undervolt and good speedos (good chip binning)
