Hey Gedly,

Its not gone un-noticed (read the re-evaluation at the end of the review).
GBATemp Re-Evaluated Review

You gotta love em over at the DSX forums, just for the comedy value...

They're even spreading the mirth to the IPhone Users with Dinopio Pastos (Dino) getting IPhones bricked with his programming competence.

These guys put the disreputable name of hackers into disrepute, Hahhahahahhahahhah

Yes I threw that review into the mix over at the official forum, don't know how long that thread will last (and for that matter, do we know what people are really posting!). It's an important turning point that GBATemp now have a bad review for the device (there are others but this is a biggie). It buries once and for all the "have some patience" argument that's been wheeled out month after month - the rep of the cart is damaged and if they are still making it, they won't be for much longer, unless they do something fast, because now anyone doing a quick search of the net before purchase cannot miss seeing the truth and they will buy something else.

The reevaluation bit of the review really needs to go at the top though - I know there's a big banner at the top but most of the review still looks favourable until you reach the end.

It says what needed to be said (more or less). It misses some of the details, like the fact that it isn't a case of "officially doesn't support roms" but rather "was initially sold claiming total rom support then flip flopped only when they didn't want to fix anything". But it's a strong statement against buying it, which is what counts.

The one thing I notice on the ds-x forums is that there is a lot of threads that start like "Zelda doesn't work" or "I lost my savegames". Before, the user would get a warning and would be told to do a search and find the fix him/herself. After a while, they would just edit the user's post to something like "Roms talk not allow, read the rules". And now, most of these threads (3 or 4 each day) get deleted without any explanation. How sad is that? I saw one user starting a thread "Sorry about my last thread, could you help me solve my problem?" and of course, it got deleted.

Is it too much to ask why about 75% of the newer games don't work? How many people do you think have put their latest rom on the cart and realise that it doesn't work? I guessing, well, EVERYBODY?! It's not like there's a note in the ds-x package box that says "BTW, your gonna have to find to an application somewhere on the web to patch most of your roms, we can't tell you where it is and if you ask, you will get banned!"

This is a problem that affect just about every Ds-x owner and not all of them know how to deal with it. Is it so wrong to ask for help? What happened to "Do a ds-x compatibility search"? Now they just sweep the problems under the rug.
